Mike and Kay's Web Home

Note: this site is an updated copy of the old Earthlink web page - we plan to revamp and completely replace it with new info, pages, pictures and organization. In the meantime, the content is kept relatively up to date.

Our lives continue to be filled with the usual - work, pets, sports and hobbies. Kay and I both continue working in Corporate America IT. Kay works at AT&T Mobility, trying out the high-flying life of a contractor. Mike is at Expedia, Inc, working as a Software Design Engineer in the Internal Systems group. Both Kay and Mike are working hard to learn the new technologies and work processes of our positions.

Striper continues to brighten our life with his furry, purring presence. He misses all three of our departed kitties. See the Furrballs page for more on Striper.

Tennis has continued to take up a large part of our lives. Mike was bumped up in the late ratings at the end of 2007, and this year is on both USTA 3.5 (SMACK) and 4.0 (SpiderPigs) men's teams. I'm continuing to work on my game, and am looking forward to a year of improvement and hopefully playoffs.

Kay had an excellent year of tennis in 2007 - her 3.5 women's team made it to local playoffs and beyond - all the way to the national finals! Her team finished 5th in the nation (out of 2000 teams that started the season at that level). Kay was one of the few off of her team to not get bumped at the end of 2007, so she's playing on two teams this year - a 3.5 team (The Clash) with strong potential for playoffs (could Kay go to Nationals for the 3rd year in a row?) and continues playing with most of her teammates from last year on a 4.0 team (40-Love).

As part of our life simplification, we've been going through the sports equipment, trying to get rid of stuff we'll no longer use. After a couple of trips to the rock climbing gym, we've decided to take this back up on a regular basis, and will probably sample some of the many outdoor routes here in Washington. The jury is still out on the soccer and skiing equipment.

Mike dabbles in various artistic things from time to time - fused glass, lampworked glass beads, stained glass, watercolor painting, jewelry making, photography. Examples can be found in the Gallery, which also has some pictures of places we've been. He's trying hard to find more time to work on these, but is busy with many other things.
